Local parkruns:
Every Saturday and Sunday you can lace up to run, walk or jog a parkrun. Junior parkruns are 2k, the rest are 5k. Our local ones are:

Bridgend
Porthcawl
Maesteg

We take on new members from the age of 9, however all of our training groups are full so we are not taking on any new members at the moment.

We do though operate a waiting list, so if you want to add your child to this, please get in touch. We are limited in the number of athletes we can have in each group, so it may be some time before a place becomes available.

We are a competing club, and therefore expect all junior members to commit to attending at least 80% of all training sessions, as well as competing and representing the club across various athletics competitions throughout the year.

We are always looking for more volunteers to help coach our young athletes. If this something you are interested in, please drop us an email and we’ll get back to you to let you know what’s involved.

As a fully paid-up member of Bridgend AC, you’ll need to get your hands on a club vest. Maybe we can tempt you to kit yourself out in club colours for training too.

Volunteers

Our club relies on volunteers to keep it running. It’s a bit of give and take – you donate your time, and you’ll get something out of it too. We promise it’s much more than standing with a stopwatch in the great British weather. If you want to join our volunteers, get in touch.

“The best thing is, definitely the social aspects, I get to see a lot more of my friends.”

Fraser Higginson

“I like it because we have all these friends and we meet people from outside of the school; and get outside of the school and you get all of that energy off, because after school feel quite tired. But when I am here, I am buzzing, I just love it here.”

Mia Amerein

“It is really nice because I have a lot of friends here, and it is nice to get back to training and around nice people.”

Bethany Jenkins
