Bridgend in Belfast

Northern Ireland International Cross Country

A mix of events were incorporated into the Belfast meet on Saturday 22nd Jan. The British Athletics Cross Country Challenge, round 4. The Home Counties. And the Celtic Challenge.

While the senior race was headed up by global star Hellen Obiri, one of our youngest athletes flew Bridgend colours in the Flahavans Primary Schools race. Seren Hardman crossed the line in 21st place, stopping the clock in 4:35.

Speedway 10k

Two of our leading senior males made the trip to the notoriously fast Speedway 10k on Sunday 23rd Jan. It’s the place to go for fast times and PB hunting. And Joe snatched that PB, one that’d stood still for over a decade. Not to be outdone, Lloyd shaved over a minute from his previous best.

69th Joe Thomas 32:57

120th Lloyd Manning-James 34:22

Parkrun

28 runners took part in parkrun this Saturday – notably Gareth topping his age group, and Gina in Northern Ireland. Others were closer to home in Cardiff, Porthcawl, Maesteg, and four other venues.
